Badminton in Nigeria
A fast game with a shuttlecock
Badminton is one of the fastest growing sports in Nigeria and also one of the popular Olympic sports as well. The game of badminton requires a racquet which is commonly played by hitting a shuttlecock (feathered object) which serves as a ball with the racket across the net to the other opponent.
The game is played by two or four players on a rectangular court with a high net across the middle. And in every sport/game, there are ways points are allocated to players, so in badminton players win a point when the shuttlecock lands on the opponent’s court (side’s half) after you hit it with your racket.

An Olympic sport played everywhere
Badminton is one of the popular Summer Olympic sports, and it is made up of five events which include men and women’s singles, men and women’s doubles with mixed doubles which was later initiated four years after the first four types. The sport requires excellent fitness and players who have qualities such as speed, accuracy, precision, stability and strength.
Badminton is frequently played as a fun game activity in a backyard or on the beach. It is played with lightweight racquets weighing between 70 and 95 grams, badminton strings with a thickness ranging from 0.62 to 0.73 mm, badminton grip, and shuttlecock and badminton shoes.
Badminton is one of the most popular and most played sports in the world, just like some of the other popular games like basketball, table tennis, golf, volleyball and related others.
