Builders of Nigerian polo
Nigerian polo has deep roots. The Lagos Polo Club dates from 1904, and the game spread through the northern emirates, where Usman Nagogo, Emir of Katsina from 1944, is hailed as the father of Nigerian polo. Today the sport is run by the Nigeria Polo Federation, whose president Francis Ogboro was re-elected in January 2025.
